@crispy74 afraid it wont what you have been informed is incorrect.
Mine is on the latest firmware for the Q box (Q310.000.13.00L ) and for the Sky Go app i'm on the latest software version 25.1.1.
Have you tried uninstalling the app from your mobile device then rebooting your Q box then re-installing the app and finally trying to record again to me it seems your Q box is not registering with the app to receive the record command.
The old Sky+ app was really good for checking that it was all registered and the correct viwing card was registered but this app is no longer available/supported
