Ok thanks for the info and its a pity you Pro 12 started with L 5.x.x and not KK 4.x.x. These Miracast problems I can tell are not being ignored by Sky as we are keeping on to them about it.

One bit of info that has appeared is a customer that was having the same problems as you and others who after taking his phone into a Vodaphone shop they did something to it and now its working.

We are trying to find out what was done.

I have raised the issue again with HP and they are investigating. The support Case Number is 4762558644 and below is the summary of the issue I have emailed to Amreen at HP : -

'SKY is a UK satellite TV broadcaster and they have developed an app called SKY GO which allows TV programmes to be viewed on mobile devices. However, the app does not allow programmes to be viewed on a remote screen connected via HDMI or Miracast wireless screen casting.

I have downloaded the SKY GO App onto my Pro Slate 12, but after logging in and selecting a TV channel to watch I get the following error message: -

'Cannot connect to SKY GO - Sorry, Sky Go does not support Miracast'

I have disabled Wireless Display in the Cast Screen option of the Display settings, but still no joy. I have also uninstalled the SKY GO App, rebooted the tablet and reinstalled the App, but still get the same error message.

I have spoken to SKY technical support and they have informed me that a number of tablet and phone manufacturers have failed to implement Miracast controls correctly in the Android Lollipop OS, which means that the software switch which disables screen casting isn't fully switching off the function. Several manufacturers, such as LG and Samsung have issued firmware updates to fix the issue. SKY cannot fix the problem as the error lies with the developer of the device specific Android OS.

Will HP be releasing an OS update to fix this issue? It is very frustrating to have purchased a large screen tablet and not be able to view TV programmes from my satellite broadcaster provider.'

I hope that SKY will continue to bring pressure to bear on device manufacturers.
