Only Windows 8.1 onward have DRM support within the supplied browser. MS decided not to include it in any updates to IE on Windows 7 or 8.0 .
iPlayer still uses Flash, not HTML5, by default - the BBC are only now running public beta tests of their HTML5 version.

Seems strange that BT launched 2 brand new TV services (BT Sport and BT TV) yet neither use HTML5 ...
