The device ID was generated by a Silverlight specific function, so couldn't be shared with this replacement app, meaning there's a one-off re-registration needed.
Another poster reported that they cleared the PFE-9500 error by connecting an audio output device - https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-Go-Apps/sky-gp/m-p/2821795 . Although i've asked Sky for further details on that error code.
Sky need to do more development then because the new app simply doesn't work!
Sky are aware that some users are having problems and are working on those. However it does work for a very large part of the user base (Sky are able to compare stream usage on the various platforms over time..)
I'm able to use it on a wide range of PCs, from an Atom based W10 to tablet, various i5 & i7 laptops (of varying vintages, one is 7 years old) to an i7 Dell desktop with dual monitors.
Whilst I'm happy for you it doesn't help LOL. It simply doesn't work for me. Why? Who knows.
