This is important to me as I recently relocated to the countryside and only have access to highspeed internet that has a 100Gb per month limit
. Can you change to streaming quality on the new app?
Considering how much money Sky make and pay for premiership rights and F1 etc... its a complete joke how bad there app/s are.
It certainly is a joke..the problem is the Cisco Videoguard DRM/Video driver looking at CPU usage..I know Macbook users with this on NowTV have reported it using up to 90% of the CPU on what is a reasonably powerful system. You would suspect that it is very inefficiently written and very bloated. I've now viewed some of the HD files I downloaded from Sky on the PC and the video is noticeably jerky with lip-sync problems.
Thanks Sky..what a six year old browser with a plugin managed quite happily whilst streaming the source at the same time the VideoGuard software can't manage from an already downloaded file (one stored incidentally on a very fast SSD)
There are going to be an awful lot of people with mini-PCs that just won't be able to use the service at all without replacing their PC with something a whole lot quicker...and considerably more expensive.
