Out of curiosity and .................................. well I've just done that and all seems to work apart from it won't play!!
I get an error message 1408 telling me I need to manage my devices and swap one of my registered devices for this one. Which is madness because this PC is one of the four registered devices! I cannot change anything for 20 days as I recently changed one and once you reach the four devices permitted changes are only allowed at one per month. Dear me you couldn't make this up!
Contact Sky, tell them you're updating to the new app and they'll give you a device change.
There's no possible way to map Silverlight devices to new app devices, so you need to re-register.
