This is from Sky:

As you are aware, we can not currently support the Intel HD 3000 Graphics card on the New Sky Go Player. The problem manifests itself when you only have this card installed, try to play content and get a black screen but can hear sound. We apologise for the inconvenience and continue to work on the problem to provide a full solution. In the meantime, here are the steps to move back to Silverlight and remove all traces of the new player.

Open up Finder
1. Type Sky Go into the search field in the top right and make sure ‘This Mac’ is selected.
2. Find the ‘Sky Go Player’ in the search results and drag it to the trash. Or right click and ‘Move to Trash’.
3. If the ‘Macintosh HD’ is showing on the desktop then skip to step 7
4. Click on Finder at the top of the Mac and select ‘Preferences’
5. Select the ‘General Tab’ and make sure ‘Hard Disk’ is selected to be shown on the desktop
6. To access the hidden Library folder do one of the following:

7.Select Finder. Select ‘Go’ in the top of the Mac. Press and hold ‘Alt’ on the keyboard and ‘Library’ will be an option that appears. Select it. (usually below ‘Home’)

8. Find the folder titled ‘Cisco’ > open it up > If there is anything else in here except ‘Video Guard Player’ then only delete the Video Guard Player folder/move it to the trash. If only that folder appears then go back and delete the whole Cisco folder.

9. Go back to the Library folder > ‘Application Support’ > delete the ‘Sky Go Player’ folder

10. Go back to Library folder > ‘Saved Application State’ > delete “com.bskyb.skygoplayer.savedState” folder (if there is one)

11. Empty the trash, or at least empty it of the things we have moved into it

12. Open up your web browser and go to “microsoft.com/getsilverlight” and click ‘Install’. Open up the installation file (shows as dmg or compressed file) and follow the install wizard.

13. Clear the browser cookies stored on whatever browser they use OR reset the whole browser History if that’s easier (If Safari is open then select ‘Safari’ at the top of the Mac > Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data > Remove All > Remove Now OR With Safari open > ‘History’ > ‘Clear History’ > choose ‘all history’ and then clear it.

14. Navigate to “go.sky.com”. Sign in and then try and play some content.

15. You may need to remove the already registered Mac from your device list. Found in ‘Manage Devices’ under ‘Settings’ when signed in on go.sky.com.

16. If you have tried this in Safari and it’s not working then: open Firefox, reset/clear it’s cookies and/or history and then try Sky Go again and if Firefox isn’t installed, you will need to complete this. Firefox blocks the Silverlight add-on automatically and therefore you should ‘activate always’ the plug-in in add-on’s.

17. Restart the Mac

18. You should now be able to play content successfully..

This is the exact problem ive had for 3 months. None of my browsers will let me use silverlight they force me to redownload even after following the steps above. Is there now a solution to this problem? I am using mac book pro early 2011 mac os sierra 10.12.3 (16D32).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
