We have been happily using the original Sky Go on a laptop, via a VPN service, to download and view Sky TV offline from our Portugal holiday home for 3 years. Now that I have been forced to install the new Sky Go App, every time I download a program via the VPN service in Portugal and then try to play it offline, I get the error message PFE9004. (I have a new laptop with Windows 10 installed). I have tried turning off VPN and wifi, to watch, but still get same error message. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Sky Go App, but still the same problem.
I found several threads from April referring to the same problem and one which said that Sky had acknowledged this as a "known error", but no mention of what it means or how or when they might fix it.
i have tried to download and play programs offline using my IPad and it all works fine, so presumably this is an error specific to laptops with Windows 10.
As a result, we are thinking of moving away from Sky altogether and using other services like Netflix or Amazon.
