I didn't notice any issues for me in November, but I did just run into this issue now. As my last payment was made on 21December 2019, I went into my order history in my Google Play account and requested a refund. As it's within the 14 day refund period, I got an immediate email stating the refund was made and it cancelled my subscription. If you've been caught out within 14 days of your last payment, you should get it back. Either way, attempt to request a refund from play.google.com, go to your account and the order history.
