What I would do is to leave it for 24 hours after you activated via the app and if after that time Sky Go Extra still isn't live on your account you would need to speak to Sky support about it.

Have you looked for an installer in appdata>local>temp and ran that?It could be that the link on the website hasn't been updated for the new update yet.
