Sky have recently released a new version of the Sky Go app which is expected to replace the Q app. Unfortunately, some users (me included) are also having a problem getting the new Go app to connect to their Q boxes. Sky have acknowledged the problem and are working on a fix for the Go app (I wouldn't be surprised if the Q app is allowed disappear into the sunset).

I’m trying to download Keeping up with the Kardashian’s on E! Via the sky go app. It keeps coming up with an error message asking me to update my subscription but I can watch them on demand perfectly we’ll do not sure why I am having problems?

i have already logged in/ out again and also deleted the app and re-downloaded but it had made no difference

Normal Sky Go is streaming only. Sky Go extra is required for downloading and also using on games consoles.
It's included free of charge with multiscreen/Q experience and is also a VIP reward for higher tiers. Apparently it's also free with Sky mobile but I'm not sure on that one TBH.

Is there any update on this from the developers as the Skyp Go App still doesn't work through a proxy?

You haven't said what device you are using but to make sure you have the latest version the easiest way would be to delete it and then install it again from the app store if it is on a mobile device.
If you are using a PC or Mac and there is an update available you will see this when you go to start the app and the update will then install.
Sky Go Extra is free if you have a multiscreen/Q experience package, you are a Sky Mobile customer or that you have activtated the VIP program within the MySky app and you are on the Gold level or above, otherwise it is £5 a month.

I had the very same issue for the last two days, my MacBook Pro would show a Grey screen when the Sky Go App opened and loaded.
I found the solution ... Your Mac needs an OS update. If you open your Mac App store and update your operating system, then restart your Mac this should solve the issue.
After updating, my Sky Go app now works perfectly again.

Was watching sky go only 2 nights ago , on catch up, but it’s now saying I’ve got to upgrade my subscription ?
If you are running through a laptop connected to a TV, set the TV as the only monitor displaying (i.e. not duplicating your laptop screen output). That seems to work for me at least and stuttering is a lot less.

You can actually get Sky Go Extra for free through Sky VIP if you qualify.
I made a complaint to Sky and the only compensation they could give me was a month off my Sky Go Extra charge and informing me I can get it for free through the Sky VIP app.
Problem is I'm now not paying for the service so can't complain about how utterly *&£$ it is on both Win 10 and PS4
The chances are the program you are watching is on both Catchup and Boxsets and due to an ongoing issue if you don't subscribe to the boxset package you might not be able to access it. You haven't said what program it is but could it be Manifest because this is one such series that non boxset subscribers are having problems with. The best thing to do would be to watch it via your Sky box where this issues will not occur.
