Getting "please upgrade your subscription" on Sky Go for anything I try to watch

This seems a fairly common issue, but none of the solutions I've seen in the forums have worked. I am a recent customer (signed up yesterday) for Sky Stream. We have bought all subscriptions possible bar "whole house". Everthing works fine from the puck to the TV. I'm trying to get Sky Go to play, well, anything (catchup or live for any channel) on my phone and always get the "please upgrade your subscription" message. 

 

I have tried:

 

  • Installing Sky Go on different devices (one Android, one iPhone)
  • Installed the Sky Go PC app (and got the same message with the code 1310)
  • Checking everything on MySky matches on ID and email
  • Trying to log in with ID or email address at different times
  • Checking there are no orphan IDs on my account or password store
  • Installing and uninstalling the apps the multiple times
  • Clearing the app caches
  • Logging in and running Sky Go both inside and outside of my home LAN (in case it can't run on the same WiFi as the puck)
  • Trying it with a VPN to simulate another location outside the UK (worth a try)
  • Changing my email address on the account in case this was an issue (I was a Sky customer around 15 years ago last) and doing most of these steps again
  • Turning on and off and rebooting all different pieces of equipment in the chain

I even left it a day after the initial issue since I assumed there may be an overnight job to synch accounts and subscriptions with Sky Go.

 

I can't think of anything else to try.

 

Any suggestions gratefully received. 

 

Sky app in PS3 not working

I have the sky app on a PS3 but when I launch the app all I get is a blank screen with a white sidebar. It then locks up and the only way to exit is to close the app. So does the sky app work on a PS3

I have subscribed to TNT via my sky Q box, it works there. But not on my sky go app on my iPhone or Xbox

I have signed up to TNT via my Sky Q box. It works on there, but doesn't work on my Sky go app on iPhone or Xbox.

@Stuart132   To get you some help, I’ve escalated your post to sky community chat who hopefully will be in contact and send you a private community message/email so I would recommend that if not already on, you turn email/private message notifications on to avoid missing any alerts

So look out for a chat bubble across the bottom of the screen when logged onto the forum

Be reassured the email & message is from Sky and your details are safe and secure.

Once you receive an invite you’ll have 48 hours to initiate a chat before it automatically times out, also ensure you login to the forum periodically for 48 hours after receiving the invite and check the chat bubble for any responses from sky and make sure you respond to each message from sky within 48 hours of each message, or the chat will time out again

NB 1 If your post has been escalated for a non return fee issue please note proof of postage is required without it refunds are at sky’s discretion

NB 2 If you are using Safari please make sure that Hide IP Address is not checked in order to see the chat bubble. If you are having trouble finding this to check the settings, use another browser such as Chrome

Sky go will not work via home wifi

Sky go app only works via mobile data at home, and only 1 person at a time can watch it, yey it works fine at work using their Internet. 

  • Un installed, re installed,  updated, rebooted etc, nothings working.  Have been on with a tech for over an hour, and he is stumped.  It's all channels, not just sports.

Thanks - changed my email address but that didn't work.

 

Do i need to delete my Sky iD?
Is it easy to get a new one again or will it affect billing/services etc if I change it?

You need to logout of the app then log back into it with the new ID you need to setup and use with it.

Are you meaning trying  to use with Sky Q at home?

If not, do you get any errors in the Sky Go app, when you launch it under your wifi?

 

If so, do you have the Sky Q Multiscreen package?

You’ll need a Sky Q Multiscreen subscription to watch live TV when Sky Go is connected to your Sky Q box, and also watch and download recordings from your Sky Q box to the Sky Go app (if you have Sky Q Multiscreen, you’ll already have Sky Go Extra).

Please note: You won’t be able to access recordings from your Sky Q box if you don’t have Sky Q Multiscreen.

Sky Go error codes 1310 & 1410

Sky Cinema was added to my package yesterday and it works fine through the Sky Q box, but get the error messages about requiring the relevant subscription on the Sky Go app.

 

Telephone support just tells me this is working as intended, despite having Sky Go Extra and the issue isn't affecting the Sky Sports channels.

 

So far I've restarted the Sky Q box, removed devices from MySky before reinstalling the app on computer and android phone.

Plus, may be worth a reboot try of your home broadband router, then reboot your devices you use for Sky Go.

Yeah did that with the new email I changed log in to but still same message.
