Are you using a VPN because if you are you will need to disable it as Sky Go cant detect of you are in the UK until you do.
Have you tried what others have done in this thread and that is to delete the app, reboot your ipad and install it again ?
They still havent resolved this ive been on the phone with there experts loads of times anf they cannot figure out why this keeps happeneing. They have basically told me that I have to wait for the next player update and hope that they have fixed it then....
I am in a normal (non multi screen) sky contract. I want to add sky go extra. Will this activate a new 12 month contract?

Every other channel including all the other Sky Sports channels work fine.
If I select Sky Sports 5 I get "An error has occured.The application must now terminate." The preview was working earlier but it crashed when trying to expand it, again only on Sky Sports 5.
No more tennis for me I guess...

i have just signed up with sky for the first time and I'm trying to get sky go to work on iPad mini with latest iOS
I can install sky go - I then enter details to sign in and then it crashes - when I reopen sky go again it says I'm logged in but whenever I press on any content to stream it just keeps crashing
i have restarted, double clicked and closed app, deleted app and contents but I can not get it to work
also if I look at my registered devices either on sky go or my sky sky app - my iPad is never listed as registered so can only assume it had registered as a device correctly - it did ask me once to register a safe question which I did but hasn't asked me since
my phone works fine no issues
many ideas?

I don't believe it does as you can cancel Sky Go Extra by giving Sky 31 days notice.

Your iPad will only regsiter once you start to watch something which you haven't yet done. You might have already tried this but after deleting the app have you rebooted your iPads before installing it again from the app store.
It seems odd that it is only happening on the one channel, I have just tried it and it worsk fine. A few things to try would be to use a different browser and if it still happens check your date and tiome zone settings:
Open up your clock down in the right hand corner.
Click 'Change date and time'
Click 'Change calendar settings'
Under the 'Date' tab, make sure your date formats are the same, ie. dd-MMM-yy
for short, dddd-MMMM-yyyy for long.
Make sure the time zone is set to the UK.
Make sure the date are set to UK (English) and not UK (American)

recently ive tried to watch sky sports on my sky go app, and was fine no issues, But suddenly i can no longer watch sports catch up. when attempt to comes up with a sky box and wifi symbol. i can watch live tv, and box sets etc but for some reason no sport. i am subscribed to sky sports as can watch live!!! help. i dont have sky Q but have a sky Q modem after needing a replacement internet hub.
Unfortunately no one will be able to advise you how to use a VPN to use Sky Go abroad as that is against the terms and conditions you agreed to..
That little box and the wifi signal means it can only be downloaded to your Sky box to watch.
Sky are investigating this, in the meantime try searching for the content you are trying to watch instead.

Is there a way of streaming / downloading content with just wifi then without a VPN?

Streaming & downloading is only possible if you're in the UK.

Having a similar problem though im trying to remove a device first on virgin page (ipad) to change to macbook but i'm getting an error on the virgin page saying an error occured trying to retrieve devices, please try again later. Been days now.
