SkyGo HDMI Monitor

Hi

This is my first post. I have skygo set up on my PC upstairs so I can watch tv whilst my partner watches sport.

We have a PC with a HDMI monitor - it’s worked up until the app was due to be downloaded. Now i get a lag when I watch & the sound it off.

I assume this is to stop people using a hdmi cable to TV from laptop or other remote device - but what’s the resolve for my current issue?

I have done this too, but it still doesn't work - i just get the error code every time. It's extremely frustrating.

As stated above that error means that there is a subscription issue, so if you subscribe to the Premier League Channel and/or the Sky Sports pack and can't view the channel you will need to contact Sky support so they can look into it for you.

Sky Go app won't work windows 7

Hi, I have downloaded the Sky Go app as you can no longer watch sky go through a browser... but it won't work. It is incredibly slow (if it loads at all), then when I select something to watch I can get audio but no video - except for on Sky cinema where I get the promo video before the film?! I have tried downloading the films first but then I don't even get audio :/ I have tried un-installing the app and re-installing (including CISCO) twice. I have looked all over the internet and tried different things but I am lost now.... Has this happened to anyone else?

Having the same problem with UKTV channels on my PC using IE. I thought it was my computer but could'nt understand why all the other channels were working. Hope this gets fixed soon as its really anoying

Have you tried the new desktop app, you can download it directly from Sky here. Do note that it will use up a new registration slot so if you haven't one free you will need to delete a device first. The option to watch Sky Go via IE will be removed by Sky sometime in the future as the new app is a replacement for it.

Check to see if the snipping tool is running - that's been known to cause this error before.

Dont Sky say something about believing in better???... I am as annoyed as everyone else and I think Sky should beleive in at least making stuff OK before they try and make anything 'better'

SkyGo on MacOS High Sierra doesn't recognise the device which is already registered

I suspect that many people have already had the less than 'beleive in better' experience of trying to access their Sky services on a mac?

Whereas the service was at least workable (sometimes - apart from silverlight glitches) via Safari since this option has been removed in favour of the 'beleive in better' SkyGo app I cannot connect at all. It keeps saying that I have to register my device... which is already registered... cos it worked ok with Safari... and when I remove the registration and try and reregister it says that I cant

Virgin Media must be a better option???... or is their support for Mac just as dismal??

Any thoughts / comments greatly appreciated

Latest Sky Go App refusing to work - Error code 7005

Yesterday when visiting the Sky Go website, I was prompted to download and install the latest Sky Go Player. "Great" I thought, about time we had a new one seeing as if I wanted to watch Sky on my pc, I have been forced to use an out of date and insecure browser for the past year!

The problem is that so far I've had zero success in getting the new app to run at all - consistently getting a '7005' error code each time or occasionally a blank screen with 'We're having problems connecting you. Please try again (002)' . If I'm prompted to restart the app to try again that never works either.

I've installed as an Administrator and I'm running the new Sky Go app as such. Following community advice in seperate threads on this forum, I've also created exceptions for Sky Go and the Cisco related software in my antivirus software (AVG Internet Security) and also added them manually to Windows Firewall, but it makes no difference. I've also tried disabling my antivirus completely and that doesn't help either.   I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Sky Go app four times so far to no avail, including removal of all old Sky Go apps.

For information, the associated Cisco VideoguardMonitor.exe software is configured to load and is enabled on system startup, however, there are no such services shown as running when I open Task Manager, even if I manually go to their install location and run them myself, so is this part of the problem?

Some prompt technical support on this would be appreciated as it's the first time I can recall a new piece of software has utterly refused to work on WIndows 10, which frankly is very poor in this day and age!

Running a fully up-to-date version of Win10 Pro x64 on an 8 core CPU, Nvidia 1080Ti GPU, 32GB RAM, 78Mbit Fibre broadband.

Help please! Thanks.

Good luck getting it to work. I get the same errors and the only way to get it to work is to uninstall my Nvidia drivers so it disables the card and uses the other Intel GPU that's inbuilt.

That CPU is too low spec and I end up with BSODs.

hmm not exactly an ideal solution and I'm definitely not going to hobble my system overall just because of one poorly designed app! Thanks for your input though - appreciated Smiley Happy

Same here. I'm not going to disable the more powerful card just to get it to work- and then get BSODs anyway Smiley Happy

I get the same errors on the Sky Cinema and Sky Sports player apps and have had to revert back to the Silverlight player for now.

Sadly that'll be shut down soon so hoping the apps get an update and maybe fixes the errors.
