Try disabling the Wifi on your iPad and enable it again after a few minutes, if that doesn't help try a reboot of your broadband router, leave this off for a few minutes before powering it backup again.

If you go to the TV Guide and select a channel from here can you watch any of these channels, if not try deleting the app then do a reboot of your iPad before installing the app again.
