Yeah you should be able to use the hotspot feature to connect your tablet to your phone but I would check your tariff for the tethering limit.

There are details on each networks tethering allowances but I don't know how accurate it is as the 3 network seems to be wrong.Forgot to put the link in http://www.4g.co.uk/tethering/
