Fortunately not getting a black screen but did come to voice my displeasure at the downgraded guide. Was perfect before, being able to view much further ahead and also the view of seeing how long something has been running or how long to start. List guides that look like everything is starting at the same time are just awful. Do us all a favour and roll it back and then sack the pleb who thought this was an update. Have to pay extra just to watch on a PS4 even if no other devices are connected to sky go, really need to put that extra money to good use but no doubt goes on crappy football rights instead!

Perhaps it works differently on a Mac but on a PC you can drag and resize a window, this is what I mean to do. And to do this you move the cursor to the very edge of the grey window and then press the left mouse button and drag the window up.
If this hasn't worked then a complete removal and reinstall would be the next thing to do and there is a step by step guide here under Method 3, part b.

After uninstalling it did you do a reboot before installing it again from the Sky website, if not it might be worth a try and also make sure that if you are using a firewall that Sky Go is let through it. If all else fails all you can do is to report it to Sky so that they are aware of this error.

Re: New Sky Go Desktop app - black screen not working
So there's an update for the app BUT it hasn't fixed the issue at all!
There's a tiny improvement now in that you just need to drag or resize the window now to get it to spring to life.

Yep done all that, Sky Go is truly woeful, I use it rarely but when I do there is always something that doesn't work. iPlayer, Netflix etc never any issues. Sky need some new devs

I have compeltely shut down and rebooted my computer.
I have uninstalled as in tutorial and reinstalled.
I have also turned off firewall and tried to open it that way.
I think my only other option is to set my laptop to factory settings, getting desperate now.
Any other suggestions?

Box sets
Ok so I have sky go extra and I uses to be able to watch box sets on my phone but for the last few months it says I need the correct subscription, I can watch them in my tv. Any help advice please.

Error message
Watching Sky go on iPad. Keep getting error message ‘an unknown error occurred, please try again’. Deleted and re downloaded the app and still doesn’t work

I seem to be getting the same problem mentioned above since the latest update. All is fine for about 20 minutes then the screen goes black and I am forced to change channel to fix.

But have noticed a couple of inconveniences such as the guide now only provides the current and next two programmes as opposed to the 7 day guide before. Also when pressing square to bring up the info when u press circle to close it now brings up the guide for some reason.

SkyGo SD TV shows/movies only, live TV HD
Hi all,
I'm a little bit baffled by Skygo on my PC.
I've been watching game of thrones on sky atlantic on my Sky Go PC app and although there's an icon for HD & 'S', it always seem to be in standard definition. The audio quality is also quite poor.
Yet, when I watch Sky sports live TV, the audio is perfect & it's HD as well.
No problems with internet - I'm on 70mb fibre and have never had trouble, so I don't think its a up/down scaling issue.
What on earth is going on with the skygo app?
The frustrating thing is - if I use my xbox one and perform the same action, game of thrones is in HD. Why is the PC version of Sky go always troublesome?
any advice appreciated.

Just press square again. It does say on the prompts at the bottom but caught me out a few times as well. Was no need for the update and certainly no need to change the button layout.

It might be worth deleting the app again, disabling the Wifi connection on your iPad and then rebooting it, enabling the Wifi and then installing the app again from the app store.
