Thanks for your help. I allowed 3G/4G networks and was able to watch a live stream. However, When I checked my data usage it had used 0.2GB in the short test I did rather than using wifi. Interestingly though, I then turned 3G/4G off and tried again and was able to view the live stream.
I don't know why that should be but I'm now in the position I wanted to be in where the app cannot use my data allowance but will use wifi when available.

I checked similar questions.
Chernobyl is the show I want to watch. It is not a box set it is catch up, I have the subscription for the channel and I have sky go, I checked via sky.com.
I signed out and back in again.
I still get the upgrade your subscription error message!

Chernobyl is in both Sky Boxsets and Catchup, if you go to Sky Boxsets > Drama you will see it listed here. Are you able to access it via the Catchup menu ?

The Sky Go App is just blank white when I load it on my MacBook
Let me start by saying that Sky Go is one of the most terribly underdeveloped apps I have ever come across which is majorly disappointing, why is there no option to log out?
But that's beside the point, whenever I try opening the sky go application on my MacBook to watch something it loads the regular screen with "checking for updates..." then after 2 seconds it goes fully white including the bar at the top and is completely useless.
I don't want to go through the nightmare of uninstalling this app as it saves its self in such a way that you cannot simply delete it and reinstall.
Sky, Please fix your terrible service, this is ridiculous

Are you downloading on wifi? You can't download on mobile data and all downloads will sit in a queued state until you connect to wifi/ethernet.

Box sets> drama is not the Drama channel, it's the drama category for all box sets content. There is various content from all channels in there.
Box sets> channels> Drama is where the content for the Drama channel is and Chernobyl isn't part of their content.

I'm not sure why you are mentioning the Drama channel when that isn't my point but for me this series is also listed under Sky Boxsets. The same happens on the Sky+ app via Sky Boxsets > Drama > All and you will see it here as well as in the Catch menu.

To watch the trailer it says I need to upgrade but the episodes do work now after a few attempts, the app seems quite buggy and the one minute trailer must be an anomaly or part of the box set subset included in the catch up area, odd!

Yeah I've reported the trailers issue to Sky recently so maybe they'll fix it one day. It's not just the trailer for this series that produces a subscription error without a box sets subscription, as you can see here.

Sorry I can’t answer your question, but I’m having the same problem. I am at home downloading some of my Sky Q recordings to my IPad and after downloading several programmes, I’m now getting error codes 17a and 17b.
If I find any answers I’ll come back to this post.

So there's next to no point in a secondary sky id?
Seems a little dumb for what is described as a user for viewing only in the description.
Or by sky's definition: "Secondary Sky iD gives you access to all of the account's subscribed services, but not billing information or subscription changes."
I cant believe I'm the only one that's not happy to sign in with a primary id on kids games consoles. Or that sky have no knowledge of the issue/

They’ll be able to view the Sky Go channels and that’s it.
As long as you sign them in and don’t tell them security details they won’t be able to do anything else.

I have Sky Cricket package. Current Cricket World cup matches are sometimes put on the Sky Main Event which I am not able to watch on my SkyGo (on my mobile android). Since I have the Cricket package, I should be able to watch all Cricket matches on SkyGo irrespective of which channel it is being telecasted Live.
Can you please solve this issue of watching cricket matches telecasted on Sky Main Event on Sky Go?

SkyGo Cricket Match Issue
I have recently bought the SkyCricket channel to watch the Cricket world cup matches. Today is India vs South africa match, which was air on 404 channel and i was able to watch it on Sky Go app in the office. But at 1 PM they shifted the India vs South africa match to 401 (sky sports main) channel and they were showing Bangladesh vs NZ on 404 channel. And i was not been able to watch the India match because i have not opted for entire sports pack. But this is completely unfair, I have bought the pack only to watch India match on sky sports, and now you are moving that match to different channel which is not allowing me to watch that. Either you should allow me to access that channel whenever you are airing the cirkcet (as i have paid for cricket channel) or give me the option in app that i can watch either of the match.
Please fix this issue ASAP.

I also signed up to the Cricket channel on the promise all World Cup Games are available live.
I know on the TV you can choose a game via the red button - the same should be available for SkyGo - or at least make it clear before you purchase.

Sky Sports Cricket stopped despite subscription
Hi there,
I subscribed to Sky Sports Cricket yesterday (04 May 2019), using my online account, to watch the ongoing Cricket World Cup.
Today I was watching SA vs Ind match on my Sky Go app, when they stopped showing this abruptly and started showing another match: Bang vs NZ.
So I went back and searched for the SA vs Ind match from the Live Sport menu and tapped on it, but it says, "You will need to be a Sky TV customer with the relevant subscription to enjoy this service."
What is this? I just subscribed to Sky Sports Cricket yesterday. It seems it only lets me see the specific match being shown on Sky Channel 404, and not any other cricket match being shown on any other channel. When I subscribed to Sky Sports Cricket, it said, "2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, live & exclusive" (screenshot attached), so that means every match of the World Cup.
That was the deal. Why am I being stopped from viewing the match of my choice?
