Is there anyone from Sky themselves that can answer this question?
You don't have to buy it but I'm afraid that is how things have been for quite a while now as there is no web address as the Sky Go app was never designed to work on TVs, the fact it was would have been a bonus but from now on in it will not work.
This is a customer helps customer forum so you are unlikely to get a reply from Sky but if you want you can put a complaint in:
Re: Whats the Current Sky Go web url?
Sky Go is not designed for watching on a TV. You can use Sky Multiscreen or Sky Q mini to watch on a second TV.
Re: Can't log in to TV from sky on Xbox one
Hi, I've got multi room so I thought this would of worked. I have got the sky go app working on my phone but not the xbox!
Re: Can't log in to TV from sky on Xbox one
Even though you have Multiroom, Sky Go Extra is automatically activated as you have to do this yourself so have you done this ?
Re: sky go buffering
On the mobile version at least within the settings is an option to disable the connect to the Q box.
Re: sky go buffering
FYI I have fixed the issue. Sky do not and are not bothered about speaking to me regarding this.
Thought all you paying customers would want to know that.
Re: Whats the Current Sky Go web url?
Ok, fine.... look I appreciate you both trying to help.
Fact remains, Sky Go used to work perfectly fine, on both my Poloroid TV and my Toshiba TV using "go.sky.com" as the access address.
I'm not going to buy/rent a totally seperate box, just to display something on a TV that's upstairs from where the main sky box is in the living room and only gets used for a few hours a week on an evening, using app which I have access to already without any extra as part of my sky package.
It seems that sky have a habit of doing things like this, beacuse I went through exactly the same crap with them when they decided that we the consumers where not allowed to use plex on our NowTV boxes, and now it's the same again....
I guess I'll just have to find away to do it illegally, and hack it like I did with the NowTV unit.

Re: Whats the Current Sky Go web url?
And there we go.
That took me about 30 minutes.
Didn't want to have to do it this way, but it's all there in the config file that I've just reverse engineered from the SKy Go APK app.

Re: Sky go
server addresses can be extrckted from the APK file quite easily as I've mentioned in my thread here:

Re: sky go buffering
I'm not sure they don't accept we are telling the truth - they are just absolutely awful at recognising appropriate ways to address the problem. They may not even have mechanisms. The problem may still be contained within their technical realm, with management (who might be rather more aware of the reputational damage) blissfully unaware. Over the years, I've seen how this behaviour characterises a lot of Sky's response to technical issues - they feel like a company stuck back in the amateurish approaches taken to consumer software development 30 years ago and have completely failed to adopt modern, product-driven approaches.
"We are not fabricating it, so could you stop trying to placate us "
Indeed. I'm not even sure of the intent of statements like "No one reported the buffering issue. None of us on the beta have seen it since then either". It's either denial of the problem (I don't believe so, it's clear this is a real problem experienced commonly by more than a few users) or excusing Sky for having exposed us to it.
Excusing Sky might be reasonable - although I have doubts about their release management approach - if they were responding to this appropriately. But their response is absolutely inadequate - absent in fact. They're not some small dev house who might be swamped by something like this and have all the resources needed to have - weeks ago - provided some immediate relief to those of us affected by the issue.
Re: sky go buffering
Sky go not working says to up upgrade application
Need to upgrade application which is already new one
Re: sky go buffering
How have you 'fixed the issue'?
Re: sky go buffering
Look at my previous post last week.
There is networking issue with built in config files on MacOS devices.
There is a really simple script that the SkyGo app could have built in. It's a one time run script after updates.
Re: Sky sports app videos stopped working
Yes i did, but maybe its the problem is that I don't live in the UK.
