It's an absolute joke of an issue. We in this thread are simply the tip of the iceberg. Imagine how many are calling up sky and using their resources. it makes sense to fix it asap. How this passed QC is unbelievable, such a basic problem...buffering live tv and also with me anyway random crashes watching recorded stuff. It's like they have released a beta or even alpha version of the software to the general public. Awful!

 

EDIT: the firewall workaround does not work for me including me manually adding a rule and trying a bat file.

Maybe they like cashing in on everybody phoning up and charging extortionate prices to do so. Or they just want such a bad service on sky go so that everybody has to take a full sky sports package out instead of several terminals running from one subscription. WALOS

When you uninstalled the app did you also delete the hidden files it uses, if not follow this guide.

You can ignore the date and time section and anything related to Cisco. After doing this do a search for anything related to Sky Go on your computer and if anything is found delete it before rebooting your PC and then install the app again from the Sky website.

I'm using an iPad and the app so I doubt that is still a firewall issue? Turning off a safety feature like that certainly isn't the answer long term.

I have this issue too. I'm glad I'm not alone. I was starting to wonder what it was.

I concur with these observations. 
i have the same issue with the new sky go app, when listening via Bluetooth headphones (Sony wh-1000xm2). 

usually I can apply a slight Bluetooth delay, however I'm unable to via the sky app, or the Sony app. 

it's very frustrating and needs to be fixed

 Holy Hell your brother is a genius. After more DAYS than I care to admit to, talking online to more 'Sky Geniuses' than I care to remember and uninstalling/ re installing the app more times than I care to count (I'm a determined person when I want results, especially when i'm paying for said results), I am so glad I have finally found a solution that works and can breathe a (well deserved, in my opinion) sigh of relief.

This is a W10 issue, it's different on other devices (which allow you to disable the connection to the Q box in any case).  It's not a firewall issue in any sense - but you can block the connection to the Q Box with a firewall rule on W10.  There's no safety issue, this is not about disabling the firewall but adding an extra rule

Yes it's  all live tv message comes  up saying trying to register if problem continues try turning q box on and off .... this does not work and it is only happening on one device when this device is connecting through q box if swap connection to a mobile network I can watch live telly through said device
