Just had a Sky Go update install on my windows 10 deskstop. Still shows the "connected to Sky Q box" banner at the bottom of the screen whilst loading. Was keeping my fingerrs crossed that this was at long last the hoped for "fix" regarding the buffering problem that we all have been experiancing for a long time .

However after 20 mins of "testing" I can report that there is no change to the problem. The buffering that I have had since the first release of the "new" Sky Go App , around 4 weeks ago, is still there and is as bad as ever.                  Thanks Sky !!!

Ever since my TV install a few weeks ago Sky Go is only working when connected to my Sky Q box, making the whole Sky Go experience pointless. 

 

I get a very generic 'Something went wrong message, please upgrade your subscription to view this content' despite having the correct subscription to view sports and switching my mobile provider to Sky themselves!

 

Any ideas?

No, but you can via the Netflix app

After updating my mac book software.  I select any channel to watch. The show begins streaming then stalls and I get...

 

"Something went wrong, try restarting the app. If you're still having trouble, please contact our customer services team for help and quote the error code below to get things going again PFE 9600-IH"

 

Sky customer service cant help which I find odd

Same experience. I did as instructed but don't remember about resetting account. I'm now is spain so I suppose I cannot sort it from here???

 

Can't launch SkyGo on MacBook Pro

Just downloaded SkyGo for Mac update 1.5.17 on my MacBook Pro running Catalina.

When it launches, it checks for updates but then just sits there with the white triangle and nothing else happens. Eventually, I get a message saying that 'Initialisation failed to complete in a timely manner' and asks if I want to try again. It never works!

I have tried restarting and have reinstalled the App but no joy. It worked fine before this latest update. Any ideas?

I first picked up the update with this issue on the morning of Scotland vs Samoa - the 30th September!

Does any body know if sky tv on the playstion is in hd ??? Ive got hd package but it doesn't come up in the tv listings any idea anyone

Sky Go stuck on blue screen on launch

hi, after some help is possible please.

 

As stated in the title, i double click the Sky Go shortcut, the blue screen appears, it does a quick "checking for updates" and then it just sits on this blue screen, displaying the play symbol and the words Sky Go - literally stay s like this for minutes, till i close it.

 

I'm running windows 10 and i've tried individual & combinations of:

  • disabling cisco videoguard in Task Manager.
  • Removing both Sky Go & cisco videoguard via Add/Remove programs
  • Manually deleting the leftover files from point 2 above
  • Re-downloading and installing Sky Go (incidently the app refuses to download on Firefox but downloads on Chrome
  • re-booting the PC
    • Both the 2 immediate points above have been done many times

Interestingly, when i download and re-install Sky Go, it doesn't appear to be re-installing cisco videoguard and i can't find a site that allows me to just download that program, so this may be the issue.

Should point out it worked fine last Thursday 21st and stopped working yesterday (Sunday 24th).

 

Help pretty please 😞

We have sky go and the sky go extra as was working not a few days ago but now telling my I am not a sky go extra customer.. However on the sky app I'm a silver VIP and told that I have it... Any suggestions?

There is no SD or HD for the consoles. It just streams in whatever the maximum resolution is - which is currently 720p.

Videoguard is built into the app now so you won't see it in either the task manager or as an installed program.

 

The usual fix is to uninstall Sky Go then open file explorer and delete the Cisco folder in AppData> LocalLow and the Sky and Sky Go folders in AppData>Roaming. Then reinstall.

Oh, and seeing as you had an old Videoguard installed there may well be a Cisco folder in Appdata>Local that might need deleting too.

Not sure if this helps as I found this by searching:

 

First, you’ll need to make sure you can view hidden files. To do this, launch Finder, select Go and then Library. If you don’t see Library, hold down the ‘Alt’ key. Now, delete the remaining folders, to do this:

Open the Application Support folder, then delete the ‘Sky’ and ‘Sky Go’ folders.

Try installing the app as an admin and then running it has an admin.

Ok thanks for clearing that up I thought the picture quality was getting better and worse sometimes... just confused me when it said also available in hd
