Hi

 

I received an email this morning about the Sky Go on Apple TV Trial, advising to install TestFlight on my Apple TV etc, but I've not received an email with my Redemption Code etc, to start testing it.

 

Can anyone help me out, thanks?

Does the app connect to a Sky Q box for live channels etc in the same way it does on other devices when they're on the same network?

Same for me unfortunately, error code 1310. I know ive got the correct subscription because I was watching the same show on the TV.

 

Only just downloaded the app for the first time and in my sky go devices it says  just watch a show and it will register the device. However when I go to watch it I get the error code.

 

Any support would be much appreciated.

Are you signed into the app with the correct Sky ID and not an old one if you left Sky in the past and returned because if that is the case you would need to setup a new ID to use with the app.

 

If you want to use the same email address then you need to first remove it from the old account first so log into the old account here:


https://www.sky.com/myaccount/my-details


Then delete the email address by providing another one and logout of this account, this will then free it up to use when setting up your new Sky ID:

Just for further info given i was rather lacking in my first post. This is my first time downloading and using  sky go in a number of years on a new subscription that is only two days old. I also get error message 1410 when i try to play any live tv in the sky go app which makes me think its  a more complex issue that not having the correct subscriptions.

Thanks Caesarrome, i have just tried this however it doesnt give me the option like it does in the example step screenshots to unlink my account. Does that then meant the old link isnt a problem/there isnt an old link?

Sky Go not working on iPad

Can anyone help,  I cannot get sky go to work on my iPad. I have tried updating the app, updating my iPad software (currently iPadOS 15.4.1), turning iPad on and off, uninstalling the app, removing the device from the my sky account and reinstalling, connecting to my iPhone,  and using a different Wi-Fi network to my home one. Nothing seems to work. All I get when I try to play anything in the app is a buffering circle then a messsge to say it can't connect. I've sent an email to sky who have yet to respond. Occasionally something will play after I've done all of the above things but only for a few minutes then it freezes and I get a buffering circle again. This is really frustrating and has only been an issue for the last two weeks. Is there a glitch with the sky go app on iPad. Has anyone else managed to resolve this problem? Can someone from sky contact me to help please.

Sky Go and VPN

Hi folks

 

Sorry if this the wrong sub, but I've run into an annoying issue. I use Sky Go to watch sports on my laptop. However, as I'm in a different country now, I need to use a VPN to do so. Up until late last year, everything ran smoothly.

However, lately something has changed, and Sky Go seems to detect the VPN and kick me out of the broadcast. I have fiddled around with pretty much every setting there is, including Static IP and MultiHop, but nothing works - I get kicked out after a couple minutes and have to restart my laptop to be able to start the broadcast again.

As I know fairly little about VPNs, I was hoping someone could give me some pointers as to what to do here?

Sky's official forum isn't the right place to discuss trying to use a VPN to access Sky content in breach of the terms and conditions of the TV service you subscribe to...

Hi all, finally got mine fixed after a combination of posts from this thread. Same as most people, SkyGo had been working fine, then it updated the other night and immediately stopped working with the same (001) error. I'm running WIndows 10 Pro 21H2, so settings 'might' be in slightly different places, but essentially my fix is below.

So, completely removed all traces of the app after hitting uninstall by removing the two 'Sky' folders under the user profile folder C:\users\"username"\appdata\roaming\

Next downloaded the installer file and ran it as normal, but after installation, added the executable file C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Sky\Sky Go\Sky Go.exe to the firewall (Allow and application through the firewall). To get here, open Settings, Update and Security, then open Windows Security and click on Fiewall and Network Protection. Click 'Change Settings'. Click 'Allow another app' and browse to the location of the Sky Go.exe file mentioned above and click 'Add'. I made sure both Private and Public tick boxes were selected against the entry. Save all this and close the Settings app.

Now, I opened the Sky Go app and after about 30 seconds I got a message asking me to accept all cookies, so clicked 'Accept'. Another 20-30 seconds of whirring then I got asked to login using my username and password - did this and straight away I'm back working again and can stream TV again!!

There's a lot to take in above, but essentially, uninstall Sky Go, delete the folders under the user profile, reboot, re-install Sky Go and add the application to the Windows Firewall 'before' running Sky Go. It worked for me, so hopefully this helps someone as the previous posts pointed me in the right direction.

We recently changed our broad band to Vodafone but struggling to connect our sky box to the Internet. Have been online with Vodafone for 4 hours but still not connecting
