Well I continue to try all the various suggestions and still nothing works except one - I created a virtual machine with a fresh Win 11 install and installed Sky Go in there and it works.
The only conclusion I can draw from that is that there must be something in either Windows or another app that is conflicting with Sky Go starting up.
It would be helpful if someone from Sky tech could actually reply at some stage and explain what processes their app goes through on startup, then maybe we could get a definitive solution to these issues.

Definitely a squadron of pigs flying past I'd say. Is there no official place to lodge a bug report. On here just seems a lot of guesses, and I see no help from anyone who actually works for Sky

Exactly the same happens for me and has been happening for months now. Completely unusable and unable to watch anything using the app on my PC. It works fine on my phone, but I've also tried all the steps you mentioned and couldn't fix it.
I've heard nothing from Sky about the issue, so right now I'm not able to use it. @r33v01v3 did you manage to get a solution to this problem?

Running dual monitors, so dragged window from one monitor (BenQ GL2780 on Radeon 5) to other monitor (S24F350 on Radeon 5) and overlay magically disappears. Hmm???

Premier League live in the Sky Sports App
I am a Virgin customer and have Sky Sports as part of my package. I am trying to watch the Premier League live on my iPad on the Sky Sports app and when I log in there is a button to click that says I am a Virgin customer and log in accordingly. Having logged in I go to the live match and it says I need to download the Sky Sports app but I'm on the Sky Sports app and I keep going round in circles. Other times it says I need to download some desktop app to watch it but I'm using an iPad. Any thoughts?
Am I doing something wrong?

Sky Stream Package
New customer to actual sky, always used the NOWTV version for the footie and occasional film.
Signed up for Ultimate TV package - bargain price. Delivery most likely Tuesday.
Thought i'd try out the Sky GO app on my pc and phone. Strangely it's showing Sky Cinema in what looks like all its glory - Equaliser 3, Transformers ROTB. Is this normal? Just watched a few minutes of ROTB to see if it prompted me to purchase the Sky Cinema package but it didnt.

While you are waiting for your services to be installed you get access to all available content on Sky Go then when your TV service is activated what you can view will match your subscription so if you will not be a Sky Movies subscriber then when your Sky Stream is activated you will no longer have access to it via Sky Go.

Sky Go not connecting on Mac
I have been trying for over a year now to get my Sky Go to work on my Macbook. It worked fine on my last Macbook but now I have gotten a new one it has not been able to work.
I have tried all the suggestions of clearing all Sky Go info from my Mac and then reinstalling but all that happens is i reinstall and get the error code 001 (we are having problems connecting you).
Is someone please able to contact me to get this sorted

It gets even crazier - watching the exactly the same show on: SkySpMainEvHD (410) has no overlay; SkySp PL HD (402) has overlay; SkySp News (409) has overlay. Figure that one ouit ???
The overlay seems to happen on mainly Sky Sports Channels on 'Sky Go for Windows' (android OK) as far as I can see.
Conclusion: there is some extra feed that Sky are adding to the Sports feed that 'Sky Go for Windows' is not dealing with properly!!

I'm getting this too.... Only I use the Sky Go... on my laptop and I can actually be in the middle of watching something and it comes up . It seems to clear when I reboot my laptop but a total pain and obviously a bug of some sort somewhere...

I have exactly the same problem. I got a new macbook at the beginning of July and have lost count of the amount of times I have tried these fixes and deleting and re installing. Still every time it opens I just get error 001.

Issue with SkyGo installing
Hi, I have read the various discussions on Sky Go not opening, especially after MacOS updates. I had the same issue myself on an older macbook last month,
I have a different question, which somebody may hopefully have an answer for. I'm trying to install the Go app from the Sky website on a new M3 macbook. After I run the installer, it shows a progress bar with "Downloading Sky Go" but then it just disappears as if it was never opened when it is nearly complete (after around 10 seconds). No Sky Go app appears in the Applications section of finder. Is this a new bug or is there a permission to allow on the new mac (apps from "identified developers" are allowed).
