What is the Sky Go version number in use? 1.0.19-1

Do you have administration privilege on the machine, if not, can you grant these and try again? Yes

Can the Sky Sports or Sky Cinema web players be used without any problems? No

What make and model of PC/Mac is being used? Lenovo PC 8Gb Ram 2.16 Processor

What operating system is being used? Windows 10

Does it happen on Live TV or On Demand content? Both

What happens when the problem occurs? ie black screen or loading constantly or error wording/numbers? Black Screen with Pause / Play and time position showing

Is there a space to add a new device registration?  I only use it on this device

Solved Temporarily!  For me at least.  I switched off my antivirus (Kaspersky) tried new Sky Go App and it worked for the first time.

I then switched Sky Go off then back on with antivirus running.  Sadly back to black screen so it seems a problem which  needs my antivirus configuring to allow SkyGo to run.

I've tried to do it myself but so far no success

Error 99z on Non-rooted device

I have a new device, a Clazio Spark running Android 7. This is a new to the market device. When i try the Sky Q or Sky Go apps, I get the error code 99z.

 

I have tried a root checker, and the device wasn't rooted. The makers have now confirmed that the device is not or was ever rooted.

 

How do I get aound this limitation ? I would like to use my device to watch Sky TV, and your checks for root are obviously incorrect. I must add that I'm a software developer and I'm very conversant with the Android Operating System.

I am trying to locate tickets that i have obtained through sky vip.  The email i have received from yourselves state i can access the tickets through my bookings on the app.  When i open the Sky app i cant locate the my bookings option.

 

Can you assist as the event is this evening?

Isn’t this a smart device like the Amazon Echo Show rather than a tablet? Isn’t it only available from the US?

Hi Stuart,

 

You're right, it is a "smart" device, but it's basically an Android tablet in a a speaker case. The speaker is excellent & it has a remote control so it's great for music and video. I backed it on IndieGogo and received my device yesterday, so I don't think it's generally available yet.

Solved permanently.

The problem is with allowing the video traffic through my antivirus.  In my case Kaspersky.  This did the trick

Kaspersky
Application Control
Manage applications
r click SkyGo Player set as trusted application under restrictions
Details and Rules Exclusions tab tick "Do not scan all traffic"
Save

Still works after restarting.  Hope it helps

Yes, I'm having the same issue. Message reads

Could not register the device. Maximum allowed registered devices exceeded 

Error code: OVP_00002

 

This is my main device and clearly shows in 'manage devices' as registered.

 

Have checked language, date and time on my device and is all up to date and accurate. Have also rebooted many times.

 

Astonishing.

Hi 

 

Your issue is a different one as it is showing a different error code so I have moved your post to it's own thread here, this error has nothing to do with the time and date on your Mac.  As your Mac is showing as registered in your list of devices the only way to get this fixed is to contact Sky about it:

the answer did not help, i want too use firefox , i have the esr version with silverlight but sky go says it is uncompatible and sky go also says that my language settings need to be changed to english but they already have been done. I did an upgrade to windows 10 but did not like it so went back to windows 7, should i delete my device from skygo then re-enable it

No that is the last thing that you should do. I'm afraid there is nothing you can do if Sky Go will not work via Firefox anymore. You should be aware that Sky are now starting to roll out the standalone app that you install on your PC to access Sky Go. The roll out as only just started so hopefully will be with you soon and when it does you will no longer need to use any web browser like Firefox.
