same problem. please post if you get a resolution.
The only flaw in your comment as far as Sky are probably concerned is in fact that you don't pay for Sky Go. It's a free service and as such i'm guessing it comes pretty low on their priorities
Same problem please reply!!!!!!!!
Why dont sky make it so you can view sky go in IE so you can atleast watch something whilst this fix this forced upon download!
10.0.16299.5101. That’s mines on Xbox one x same thing happening just loads then go s straight back to home screen.
Same issue with my Xbox one sky tv app. Been watching with no issues for ages and today the app opens and then immediately closes again with a couple of messages that are too quick to read.
Is everyone here with this issue also on BT broadband out of interest?
Thanks
I have installed the new Sky Go Desktop app on my Surface 3 tablet and have found the video playback to be completely unwatchable.
The live stream is very slow and jerky.
Task Manager indicates that CPU utilisation is consistently at 100% during playback the Sky Go executable and Cisco process accounting the vast majority of resource utilisation.
Although the Surface 3 obviously is not a high spec machine I would expect it to be easily be able to stream video via the Sky app. Both the BT Sport application and the old Silverlight Sky Go web stream operate without issue.
Is the Surface 3 spec (see below) below the minimum requirements?
10.0.16299.5101
I have disabled "real time protection" in Windows Defender settings, there does not seem to be any reference to scanning. This has made no difference. I also noticed that there are regions in the settings on the Sky.Go App but no matter which one I try (closest to home but any other too), it makes no difference. I wonder if my IE is the problem because when I go to this forum using it, loading is very slow, the screen comes on, goes black, comes back on, nothing will move, goes black etc etc etc. Using Chrome it works perfectly.
You can use the old web player still. Just clear the IE11 cookies.
This is mine 10.0.16299.510
Also on BT Broadband
actually sorry mine is 10.0.16299.5101
I am on bt broadband as well.
Reinstall SKY GO - download fresh if you need to
The app roots itself in Appdata/roaming - I will assume you know how to access hidden files and your user directory
Set SkyGo to "Run as Administartor" for all users by right clicking and using the compatability tab. THis may be superfluous - bnut better safe than sorry to cement things.
In the "SKY GO" directory in <username>/appdat/roaming/sky ... click on folders until you find "REDIST" folder
In there is CiscoVideoGuard.exe installation file..... RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR and install - I am not convinc ed it properly installs in the first place...
Now reboot
This cured PFE error for me
Next question, what ISP are you on, I’m with BT Infinity 2
D’oh I was on page one of this thread before posting the question 🙄
Looking like a BT specific problem then 🙁
Pretty sure I am infinity 1 could be 2 but pretty sure it’s 1
Im on sky broadband and mine isnt working
I'm aware of why, thanks. And that's a pretty useless suggestion when the customer service lines are closed like I explicitly explained in the original post.
Please stop replying if you have nothing of any use to say.
10.0.16299.5101 Xbox one. Exactly the same
Brilliant, frustration at silverlight spiral of doom over,
