Just let the update install and when it has you will need to load it up from your desktop icon as the update will finish installing before you can use it again.

Are you sure the error isn't 00200 because if it is check that your date and time zone settings are correct.

Quote simple really. 

 

BT works fine e on my PC. Sky app does not

 

You'd think someone in Sky would care about that. I've got a limited budget to watch Premier league.

I have the same stuttering problem, both audio and picture, that everyone else is complaing of. i use an 11in Lenovo with an i3 processor, HDMId to a computer screen with speakers. Before being obliged to download the new app, I this laptop was my machine of choice to watch Sky and it was always hassle-free. After I had to download the app and all the silly business started with the stuttering, I am forced to watch on my iPad - 10in and NOT the same as watching football on a big screen. 

 

So at one point my machine is perfectly fine for Sky, the next it isn't. The prices and content haven't changed and it is arrogant beyond belief that Sky should tell us not to get a stronger laptop so that we can watch a channel from which THEY make money - our money. Sky are just hopeless and the sooner the lose even more sport to BT, the better. Anyone on Sky reading these things? Doubt it. They are too arrogant actuallyto care about the customer.

Sky Go Desktop app - "No stored config" issue - help please!

So I've installed the new Sky Go desktop app on my Windows 10 64bit laptop by following the instructions given.

 

When I click on the desktop shortcut to launch the program the following happens:

- App starts to launch

- Get "checking for updates" message

- Followed by "downloading update"

- Big green Sky Go logo in middle of app for a bit

- Then left with the blue app square background with the following text

"CONNECTING YOUR APPLICATION

No stored config

Try again (clickable button)"

 

Clicking "Try again" just leads to the above all happening again.

 

I've tried unistalling and reinstalling a few times but this keeps happening.

 

Can anyone help please?????

Not a solution but a decent workaround I found.

Ive tried this on Windows 7, but I suspect it would work on 8 and 10 too.

First,  just dont use full screen mode.

Instead drag the edges of the SkyGo app to fill your screen, leaving a few pixels of width on one side, revealing a tiny slice of your desktop. Leave the cursor resting in those few pixels. Problem solved.

You will be left with only the task bar on screen. If you want to get rid of that too:

Right click on the task bar, choose properties.  Tick "Auto-hide the taskbar". This will hide the taskbar when the cursor is not hovering near it. Since your cursor will be to one side of your SkyGo screen the task bar will stay hidden, as will SkyGo's annoying volume bar. You will now be full screen bar a pixel's width on one side. Hope that helps.

For all of you recently chiming in about how Sky Go doesn't work well, have to read the entire thread and have you tried all of the proposed fixes (at the same time when possible)?

Don't you ever give up? It is up to Sky to provide a working service for everyone, no just those who are able to dig around in the workings of their computers! Try reading the threads yourself and take this message back to your beloved Sky. IT IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH! FIX IT FOR EVERYONE!

Same thing happened to me. 

I didnt have anything else running in the background at all. Then it hit me, I had my dvd library HDD still switched on and connected. 

As soon as I ejected it and pressed play on the sky app again, it worked. And no error message. 

 

So make sure you have all external drives disconnected!

I don’t have to fix Sky Go. It works for me on two computers. 

 

I know now we should not have to do these sorts of things to get Sky Go working or working better. But the reality is. WE DO. If you are unwilling to try, then you are not going to have Sky ago working well enough under Windows. It’s up to you to decide what you want to do.

Hi had a long discusion with sky tec today . he said they are not allowed to look at the discussions on here or reply to any. he said quote the only way to get it sorted is to ring and inportantly get a complaint number. when he was scrolling through the faults that were reported they were very few .

And you're ignoring the fact that these 'fixes' are not actually fixes at all!

In no way-shape or form will i change the operational safety of my machines to get a TV app to work. So you can carry on your 'chiming' about how it works for you. Fantastic, success!!!!! The rest of us would appreciate if you'd stop and leave us alone because frankly, you aren't offering anything to this discussion, apart from unhelpful, smarmy and disrespectful digs at anyone that dares to voice they have a problem. Better-known as Trolling!

I think people should  perhaps cool down a bit here. Most commentators I think are just trying to pass on a better understanding of what the problems are and how you might 'get around' the badly devised and/or badly written resource hog that is the current Sky Go offering. If someone dumps a pig of  program on you, which I consider Sky Go/Videoguard to be, then workarounds are  pretty much all you can do to at least passably enjoy the service until Sky/Cisco/VideoGuard/VideGuard's new owners get round to doing something about it.

 

I don't think anyone with any sense considers what they've done to be adequate, or indeed  fair treatment of their customers, but for the moment we're stuck with it and personally if someone finds out that uninstalling 'Solitaire' gets around the problem for a while, I at least would like to hear about it and have  a look at why.

Same problem here with Macbook Air,  did not happen with previous Sky app. 

Sky list loads ofprogrammes none of which I know of nor how to close them if they are running

what i forgot to meantion is i have had the app working for 2 months untill this error 7005 today. what is going on ???????
