Another moan about subtitles

So it now seems that from watching Now TV on my friend's laptop - she has the option of subtitles on all movies & some TV shows - she also has this on her iPad and iPhone.

 

As far as I know there are absolutely no subtitles on the Sky Go app and the Sky Q app! Starting to feel like Sky customers are second rate compared to Now TV customers - Sky Q costs more, yet still not a whiff of subtitles for those hard of hearing unless you're watching from your box. Smiley Sad 

Sky go is useless now!! as is sky customer services!!!

It seems that these days sky just don't give a dam about there customers. Everytime I go to use or do somthing with sky its nothing but a big headache.

 

Just recently they miss-sold me putting me in to a contract I did not ask for, adding extra charges for the sake of a £1 change in my subscription and not telling me about the extra charges on my bill, all in the mouth of christmas.

I called them and I told the guy from sky what happened and how they messed up my subscription and did not even get a real hearted sorry and I felt that I was the one in the wrong even they I had a recording of the transgretions from sky on my phone and still have! humm?? youtube??

 

Now as it turns out the only devices I can watch skygo on are the xbox one. I cant watch on my mobile or tablet as there not compatible and My laptop is linux. I used to be to watch through the browser but they have even stopped that!!

and before you start? don't give me the silver light problem sky, as, the amount of money you take from your customers far exceeds the amount for you to develope a silver light or alternative. why don't you add skygo to a dongle that people can watch from laptops or other devices? there are so many alternatives you could consider?

 

You also have an automated service that when customers call in there reminded you are now open from 7am? funny that? no matter what you do after 7am to call through the lines cut off and tells the customer to call back at 8:15am? what the hell that all about???

 

I'm not in contract for tv and my broadband is up for renewal in february and I can tell you that when feb hits. by by sky!!

I think the my bookings setion should be in the ticket section of the app. If you cant find it then I should imagine that Sky support can do it for you if you contact them about it.

On the Sky Q App it doesn't show the channels 101, 102, 103, 104, 105 when using mobile network - if at home and connect to the box it does and allows me to send a record request to the box

 

There are no settings within the Sky Q app to set your region, unlike the sky+ app.

 

Even in the Sky+ app if try to send a remote record request while on mobile for BBC One HD, ITV HD and Channel 4 HD it fails.

 

This has to be something to do with Sky as can send requests to Channel 5 HD, Sky One HD and any other Sky channel.

I had the same problem on my new 2018 Macbook Air, I quit the Quick time player and the problem was sorted. Thanks for the help.

When are your tickets booked for? I found out that if it’s within a certain time of the event you are unable to cancel on the app you have to call up and cancel them. It was very stressful! And I am wondering if it’s now put me on a blacklist ☹️

 

TV for Sky on Xbox One

Hi all. 

I'm having trouble with the TV app on Xbox one. I have a PS4 and it works fine. However, I just got an Xbox One S for really cheap and have decided to use it for the 4K blu ray player and to watch sky. I downloaded the app Nd as soon as I click sign in I get and error saying cannot connect to the servers.

 

Again. PS4 works fine. Pretty frustrating trying to get it to work for Xbox. The only decide I have registered for the app is the PS4 so it's not like I've got too many devices registered.

Any help would be great.

When on a mobile network the TV guide should show a Watch on Device selection and a Record to Sky box option at the top. Record to Sky box will show all channels and Watch on Device will filter the channels to those that can only be streamed.

There should be a region setting in the app but may only show when on a mobile network.

I was wrong about the region setting. There isn't a setting for that on the Q app.

I've also asked some Sky folk and they are seeing the same failed recordings so have passed it on to be investigated.

I have a Bose soundlink mini 2 connected via Bluetooth, I have it in a home gym, the volume on sky go is fine while using noisy equipment on everything apart from movies from my iPad, sky q on the other hand seems to only be loud enough with 20% of the content.  I thought this was limited to recorded content but it’s not. I have however noted that some content is fine, an example is I watched a channel 5 documentary which I download about Cadbury and I could hear every word but when the adverts came on I could not hear nothing, on sky go the adverts were too loud so adverts I can not hear is great, when I tried to watch the between the ropes for the upcoming whyte v chisora fight and a programme on gold I downloaded I could not hear the speaking, I also recorded a programme called enterprice from BBC and could not hear them speaking, I have also downloaded the same episode to see if that was any different but the sky q app sends you to bbc iplayer if the programme is downloaded rather than recorded, Iplayer is fine, amazon prime is fine, the majority of stuff on the Netflix app is fine but some stuff I have a similar problem, anyone have any work around without jailbreaking the iPad?

I can't watch sky on my new mobile device because it puts up a message saying 

Already registered to one device pls register to new device 

But i can't seem to do this ???

I have never come across that error message before so if you haven't added a new device since 1st December I would suggest getting in contact with Sky support so they can look into this for you.

yeh on the record to sky box the channel list starts at 106 for HD, the other channels in the 800+ range when on mobile network

 

I've just tried sending record to box for itv and this has been succesfully sent

getting rid of WD folder just worked for me. Can FINALLY watch sky go on Macbook.

I have this issue too. Any BBC One HD  programmes I record on Sky Q (particularly on a Friday for some reason) are on BBC One Northern Ireland (I live in London) and in SD.

I am having the same problem...

Working abroad and the sky go app has worked continuously for 13 weeks now all of a sudden its not! Very frustrating. I really don't want to add a new user to my laptop either.
