I have a Macbook Pro and my Sky go app won't load just shows a grey screen. I've tried uninstalling but even the skygo installer just goes to grey screen. I'm pretty sure it is not my firewall either HELP!

Hi, I had the same problem. Remove everything with regards to Sky go, check all your folders. I re-installed it a few days ago. Once installed It said it could not read a script, gave me a button to click, retryed and it worked.

I have deleted the app, skygo downloader and silverlight multiple times and attempted to reinstall and it still won't work. I think it has something to do with 64bit apps / with the Mojave update but I'm not sure. **bleep** APPLE

have you checked firewall?
never used silverlight,
when you re-install and it up dates again, do you see a flash of the blue screen? Im using latest mac pro.
I know it sounds crazy, delete everything, reboot, install agin, check. before you delete again reboot and again check.... personally i think it is a path error.
My problem like yours, i did something..... and it started working again. sorry cant help anymore
sky go on windows 10 not working
Hi I was using Sky Go successfully on my Windows 10 laptop until it updated itself when I started it yesterday. Since then I have uninstalled then reinstalled the Sky Go App and every time I try to watch live TV channels for which I have subscribed and can watch on my TV I get the following displayed:
"For Your Information"
"You need the relevant Sky TV subscription to watch this show."
Code: 1410.
I reported the fault to someone in Sky's Technical team. He verified that I am subscribed to watch the channels that were blocked but could not solve the problem. He told me that he would refer the matter to an expert who would call me back. That was more than 30 hours ago and no-one has contacted me.
Does anyone else have this problem?

I’m having a similar issue. Ever since the update at the weekend,the sky app is incredibly slow. Sometimes it freezes or else closes. Also,it has started asking for a parental pin for films over 18 etc where as before it didn’t. When I type in the pin code (which is correct as it works on the tv) it says invalid pin!?

I’m getting a similar issue of black screen but seems to be only on loading adverts after selecting something to watch. Sometimes it loads after a while of the black screen but mostly I’m stuck not being able to watch anything

I have even emailed the MD of Customer Support Group and the CEO about three times and get no response from them whatsoever!! I am now dealing with Customer Priority Department, but still cannot give me a time scale! What a joke. I would be grateful if you hear anything to let me know and I will do the same - but don't hold your breath!!!!!!

Walkig, I was struggling liek all the folks before but your description got me straight through to the righ page on the app and I have successfully cancelled a pair of tickets.
Recommend others who may be struggling to go through the procedure stage by stage, don't flap,

Exactly the same thing has been happening to me since the app was updated.

Before - probe to lag and bring up the spinning wheel.
Now - I cant watch ANY channel for longer than 10/15 mins before the screen goes black. Channel still works as menu strip comes up no problem. If I change channel & go back, it’ll work fine again. Most of the time I have to force quit the app and start again.
This is the same as I now can’t even watch On demand without it going black and spinning icon AGAIN. Terrible experience and I don’t get this on SkyGo on any of my other devices on the same network.

Side question - WHY can’t the app optimise for full screen on iPhone X?! I buy a phone to make use of its screen & the app can’t offer it!

Hi all,
I've merged two threads on similar subjects. We had an issue where customers were unable to sign in to TV from Sky. This can be resolved by the following workaround.
- Try to sign in again - Some customers have advised this issue was a temporary fault.
- Close the app by pressing the PlayStation button.
- Reset password via Sky.com on the PlayStation browser, Then logout and login to Sky.com within the PlayStation browser and if presented with the captcha, complete it.
- Once you're successfully able to sign into Sky.com.
- Open The TV from Sky app on the PlayStation and login with the new password.
There is another issue that is currently under investigation where you are presented with a black screen and no error message at a set period of time, 10, 20 and 30 minutes for example.
We're currently looking at replicating this and working out a root cause. What would help with this is if you could reply to this thread with some additional information on your setup. Only if you are affected by the periodic black screen issue.
We're looking to find out:
- The geographic location of the console (very general area fine)
- Internet service provider
- Hardware – router/hub/switch?
- Channel and on-demand content affected

I live in the UK but work regularly in the Netherlands. This is where I have my PS4 with Sky Go. I have a SkyQ setup and subscription at my home in the UK.
I’m using a Linksys WRT3200ACM router and Dutch ISP is Ziggo.
All channels seem to be affected.
I have currently disconnected my PS4 and am using my old PS3 with Sky Go connected in the same way and all works fine.

The Sky Go app works perfectly on my ASUS laptop but when I try to connect to a tv via HDMI I get the intermittent stuttering picture. Is this a deliberate ploy by Sky to prevent you watching on tv via the app?

Many thanks for acknowledging my thread. Clearly this is a national known issue given its responses and hopefully can be fixed soon, or a rollback to previous version whilst a patch is being worked on.
I spoke to a Sky support member on friday 26th who advised the bullets points you have laid out below as an attempt of a work around, however no joy.
My PS4 console is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK to where I link my SkyGo Extra to my Sky account.
ISP - Virgin media, with a Super hub (that supports SkyGo on all my other devices), and a download speed of 18mbs, well above the recommended 2.
The blackout occurs on live tv after 5-15 mins of viewing, also occurs in on demand viewing, however it is more prone to a spinning/ buffering icon that does not resolve itself. The only resolution is to force quit the app and then relaunch to have to watch from the entire start again. Clearly not ideal for both scenarios. Not much point having Sky Movies & sports when I can’t watch them.
Hope Sky can sort this out ASAP, and many thanks for your help.

I ve got exactly the same problem with mine.
Its been going on since the start of Feb.
They keep saying the next update will fix this but no. Just done another update and still dont work.
One day they may get round to fixing this problem.
