Error Code 17b - Sky Q App
I get the error message: "There was a problem streaming this channel. Please try again. Error code: 17b" whenever I try and watch TV on the Sky Q or Sky Go app on both my phone (Pixel 2 XL) and iPad. I also receive a very similar message, again error code 17b, when I try and download programmes.
I am physically away from my Sky Q so can't connect to that for help.

You would see this message when you are trying to access content that is not part of your subscription, for example you might be trying to watch something from the boxset section when you don't subscribe to Sky Boxsets.

I have the exact same problem with sky go and my android tablet (Padgene) which is Chinese and not on the list. So does that mean that basically I am goosed??

Appreciate the priority here is getting the app working, but I was hoping to double back on a few other issues raised in this thread so-as not to lose sight of these points (happy to create a new one?).
1) Reinstating old style TV guide - new guide is limited to showing only 3 programmes per channel. I am therefore having to navigate away from Sky every time I want to see what's on TV - surely this is not desirable from Sky's perspective (as well as customers perspective!).
2) Reinstating Universal remote settings - it is no longer possible to "pause" live TV, or use the rewind/fast forward features on universal remotes when watching catch-up/on demand. It seems a massive backward step and is not exactly a premium feature that would have any commercial impact to sky by removing it (it's not like customers were able to record shows, just a nice convenient feature if we need to make a quick cup of tea!)

Yes, please get the devs to let us use the universal remote properly again and use the pause button. And fix the TV guide.
I've had no issues with the app itself but it's annoying not being able to do what was possible before the update.

Try a reboot of your Sky box at the mains and give it 4 minutes to finish loading once is is turned back on before trying again with both your devices.

The only fix is to uninstall the app and some hidden folders before following the guide here, you can ignore the date and time section. After doing this do a reboot of your laptop before installing the app again from the Sky website.

I specifically signed up for Sky box sets (10 days ago!) so I could watch Game of Thrones Seasons 1 to 7. Similarly, I finished season 2 and then on 1st June could not access anything but Season 8! I called Sky who told me their contract with HBO had expired on 1st June! I was raging! What makes matters worse, when googling "how to watch GOT seasons 1-7" Sky and several techie sites all say it is still accessible through Sky Box Sets! - even now on June 4th!
Guess I'm going to have to wait until later in the year then to get my fix 😔

This has been bugging me on Sky Q, every time recorded Sports away from home, they were in SD. How strange they have reversed Channel numbers when on 4g (not connected to home box) to when on wi-fi!!

Using secondary sky id to view on games consoles not logging in
I've set up 2 secondary sky ids for my kids to watch sky in their room.I've set up two secondary sky ids for them, and linked to the account through the viewing card number only, not "authorised" since that give full account control.
One has an xbox one, and the other a ps4. Neither can log into sky go with their sky id. The screen doesn't change from the login screen, just a message to go to sky.com/xbox/settings is shown, and similar for the ps4.
If I enter the wrong password then it comes up immediately to say the username/password is wrong, so the details are right.
If I enter my sky id then it logs in immediately. Log out and still not change if I use one of the secondary sky ids.
The advice from sky on the phone was just to use my sky id with the consoles. I'm the primary account holder, and any "authorised" user has full access to the account from sky.com (change packages, bank details, etc), so I'm not happy about that solution.
Is there some special trick to getting the sky go to work on consoles with secondary ids?

Same here, I started watching when it came back on, and there are quite a few episodes to watch. If you are working or have a family then you cant realistically watch more than 1 a day. 2 months isn't enough time to view the box set for the average person.
I complained to sky as box sets are a paid for service. Aparantly there should have been a warning on the screen that the box set was being removed 31st may. No warning was seen here. They did offer to refund the money remaining box sets if I could find them on the sky store, which seemed the decent thing to do given the time "invested" i nthe series so far.
