Re: Sky go not working showing error code 1204
Remote Record/Download issue
Hi,
Previously my sky ID was set up as a part of a sky household as an additional user so I could record to the Sky Q box and access Sky Go remotely when living with my parents.
Over a month ago my sky ID was removed from my parents household account as I have moved out and opened my own Sky TV account using my own Sky ID.
I am unable to remote record or download catchup tv to my Sky Q box remotely as it still records or downloads to my parents Sky Q box although there is no connection between our Sky IDs anymore.
This is the same when using the new Sky Go app or the old Sky Q app.
The only way I can record to my Sky Q box from the Sky Q app is to be connected at home to the same network then it works fine.
I have tried to usual remove both apps and reinstall but have not had any luck.
Any help appreciated
Thanks
Michael
Re: Sky Go
Are you signed in with the correct ID and are you try to watch the channels live or are you trying to download them ?

Hi,
I am signed into the apps with my correct sky ID for my new account.

Unable to remote record/download to my sky q box

This was posted under the Sky Q forum but asked to be looked at here.

Re: Unable to remote record/download to my sky q box
Try installing the Sky+ app on a mobile or tablet and go into the settings to check that the correct viewing card is shown as it might be your parents one, if it let the app search for your box and once found give it another go with the Sky Q app.
Re: Remote Record/Download issue
Hi
Thanks will do i did try calling them before posting but they had a 25 minute wait time! 😞
I am a authroised contact for my parents account and the bill payer for the new account so hopefully I can do it in one call.
I had to speak to Sky previosuly to remove me as a additional user from my parents account as it errored when doing it myself through the sky website.
Re: Remote Record/Download issue
A 25 minute wait is quite short for Sky but in practice is an over estimate which, if you were cynical, could be made to put you off.
Re: Sky go Windows app causes tablet to overheat and slow down.
CPU Intel pentium 4415Y 1.6 ghz
8GB Ram
There are no other streaming services that have any issues streaming on this device exept Sky Go.
BT Sport works
Amazon Prime Video works
Netflix works
Shudder works.
I got this device about a year ago, and didn't have any issues to begin with, so something has clearly changed in the past few months to make the sky go app more resource intensive. I even just re-imaged the device to see if that would help, but it didn't.
Re: Sky + App not updating
Hi there,
We're unable to replicate this as it seems to be working fine again. It may have been a temp glitch. If you're still seeing it, please try restarting the app.
Re: Sky + App not updating
Hi Federica
Many thanks for looking in to this. It was still hung up last night but just checking now it has come good.
Will keep my fingers crossed it continues to update!
Re: Sky go Windows app causes tablet to overheat and slow down.
Hi
The CPU in your tablet is not powerful enough to run the Sky Go app, see this comparison of your tablets CPU vs the minimum specified by Sky, your CPU is way underpowered so you'll likely run into overheating of your CPU as well as stutters, lagging and crashing.
If you want a smooth experience you'll have to upgrade to a more powerful PC or look at getting an Andriod or iOS tablet that can run the Sky Go mobile app.

Yes, I get your point but it is perfectly fine for everyother streaming service on the planet. Sky go isn't anything spectacular so why does it need to be so resource greedy.
Just seems to be the way it's created, unfortunately. I suspect the overhead of running Cisco VideoGuard in the background for DRM doesn't help.
Re: Sky go Windows app causes tablet to overheat and slow down.
Might be worth excluding the Sky Go directories from your anti-virus too - that can help improve performance.
