Following on from my post yesterday afternoon, I can confirm that my latest "updated" version that I was refering too  is 2.5.33 - 1.5.17 as well. After spending over 3 hours last night on it, in my veiw, the buffering I experianced is  as bad as it allways has been for me.  Do's anybody know if this was ment to be a release "fix" or was it just an update that was in the pipeline anyhow for some other problem/reason ??

Thanks so much for this suggestion   - it worked!

I suspect that it was removing the SkyGo folder from Application Support that worked.

Moving the app to the 'normal' Applications folder didn't stop it working. However, I suspect subsequent updates would create a new app in my 'Home' Applications Folder and not update the one I moved.

Does anybody know why Sky chose to install their app in this highly unusual location?

I'm the same as   2.5.28 - 1.5.16 no updates available, that's on my PC

On my iPad it's 12.4.16 (701277b) this is what I use most of the time and according to the App Store this was updated a couple of days ago. 

What usually happens to me on the iPad is whatever I am viewing just freezes, then goes into fast forward to play catch up, this usually happens within a few minutes, after that no more buffering. At present whilst not a complete resolution it's a big step forward.

 

Just to add insult to injury I have installed a Fire Stick on my daughter's TV, it hasn't buffered once 🤔

I'm not familiar with Macs but its possible the Sky go app did not create a shortcut during install so you may have to go into the list of all installed applications to find it?

I have just signed up to sky go extra but everyone I try to download to phone I am told I need to upgrade my subscription. This is just for catch up programes! What exactly do I need to upgrade to? I pay £90 a month already.

You may need to wait up to 24 hours for it to activate.

Yes I would leave it for 24 hours as it can sometimes take this time to become active on your account. Also anything in the boxset section requires either a boxset or ultimate on demand sibscription before you can access it.

Yes you can Bill. If you ring Sky via UK mobile or Skype they can reconnect you. Really helpful guy sorted mine out and managed to watch the F1 GP. Cheers David

I've just deleted my SkyQ app and tried to connect the updated Sky Go App to my SkyQ box but no joy. The SkyQ box runs on a wired Ethernet connection (not Wi-Fi) so wondering if this is the issue

Are you a Box Sets subscriber? It is easy to confuse Catch Up and Box Sets.

I've had 2.5.33 for a day or so.  It's no better.

Working fine now in my LG V50

Started working after the latest Android  security patch upgrade  1st October.

Is that live television, on-demand content or a Recording?

Recordings can only be accessed when the Go app device is on its 'home' network.

I tried to update another PC running W10 V1909 and was was unable to so to v2..5.33 - 1.5.17. It looks like SKY have withdrawn this update i.e. the version on this PC is still v.2.5.28 - 1.5.16.. They seem to have flaky version control.

PLEASE WILL SKY MAKE THE VERSION THAT DID NOT CONNECT TO SKY Q  AVAILABLE TO USERS UNTIL THEY FIX THE BUFFERING PROBLEM!!!

They release the updates in batches. For me I had the update on my PC but it wouldn't update on my laptop for another week or so. Sky always release their updates in batches in case of problems.

Yes, the option to disconnect the box would be welcome. Also, I thought I would watch recorded shows but even that crashes my app every 30 min or so.
